DJI Dock 4 is a battery swap dock built around the DJI Matrice 5TD. Instead of waiting on a charge, the dock lands the aircraft, swaps in a charged battery and has it ready to launch again in about 45 seconds. The Matrice 5TD carries wide, tele and thermal cameras for inspection, security and emergency response from a single site, and the whole system can be fixed in place or mounted on a vehicle.
Key features
- 45 second turnaround A rotating swap arm replaces the battery in about 25 seconds from cover closed, so missions run back to back.
- Four cameras on the 5TD Wide, 3× and 11× tele, and 1280 × 1024 thermal, plus a 3 km laser rangefinder and NIR illuminator.
- Up to 59 minutes of flight Long sorties from the Matrice 5TD, with a 21 m/s FlyTo speed for fast response.
- O4 Ground Station Lifts the RTK, transmission and storage modules above obstructions, for up to 40 km O4 range depending on radio rules.
- Stops short of power lines Obstacle sensing with colour vision, mmWave radar and LiDAR, and onboard AI detection of people, vehicles, smoke and fire.
- Rated −40°C to 50°C IP56 on the dock and IP55 on the aircraft, with anti-icing propeller materials.
Battery swap, not recharge
Dock 4 lands the aircraft, pulls the used battery and seats a charged one, and media comes off the aircraft over Wi-Fi during the swap. That tempo suits security patrols, drone-as-first-responder work and site monitoring, where being ready again in seconds matters more than any single flight.
Fixed or vehicle mounted
The same dock and aircraft run as a permanent site or from the back of a vehicle. Pair it with an O4 Ground Station to extend coverage across hills, shelterbelts and buildings, and run FlightHub 2 in the cloud or on your own servers.
